Standards our OTs adhere to
We aim to respond to all queries within 48 hours and will typically be able to see most local clients within a week of receiving a completed referral. We do not have a wait list at the present time.
Absolutely. Given the large demand for occupational therapy services through the introduction of the National Disability Insurance Scheme, many providers are struggling to provide responsive occupational therapy service to clients with urgent assessment and therapeutic support needs. We can help in these situations. Please get in touch to discuss how our sub-contracting services can help you meet surging demands without compromising your referral base.
Yes! We are registered with the NDIS and can see NDIA managed clients.
Rates for many of our clinical services are set by the National Disability Insurance Service (NDIS), Medicare, the Department of Veterans Affairs and other schemes. For services that fall outside of predefined funding schemes, or if you are client paying out of pocket, we would be happy to provide a competitive obligation-free quote once we have understood the scope of work.
Our referral form provides indicative hours of service that would be required for various types of referrals. Feel free to reach out to admin@occthy.com.au if you require additional information on our services.
Yes! All occupational therapy services are provided by clinicians who are registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Registration Agency (AHPRA), are members of OT Australia and are fully insured for professional indemnity and public liability with OT Australia's preferred insurance broker (AON Australia).
Yes, but only by pre-arrangement. Often we will schedule multiple assessments at under-serviced locations to reduce travel costs to clients but these can entail some unavoidable delays. If you are located outside the south-east Queensland region and are unable to access an appropriate local provider, do get in touch for an obligation free conversation to discuss some options (such as tele-assessments).
Yes! Occupational therapy assessments with clients living in the community normally involve assessing the client's daily activities in the settings that they are undertaken. This means its is often most efficient to undertake the assessment in the client's home although a preliminary assessment can be undertaken in other venues in a small number of cases (such if this is explicitly requested by the client or if there are identified health and safety risks). However, the completion of certain assessments might be difficult if access to a client's home cannot be arranged (for example when recommendations for home modifications are sought).
Due to the constantly evolving nature of the COVID-19 situation in Australia, we cannot provide up to date information on our current risk management measures to keep clients and ourselves safe. However, our plans are comprehensive, responsive and we continue to ensure compliance with all directives set by the Queensland Government, the NDIS Commission and other government agencies. We will continue to keep clients and referrers informed of our risk management strategies and endeavour to minimise disruptions to service delivery to the greatest extent possible.
